Protect Your Booty With These Brazilian Butt Lift Post-Care Tips

You’ve waited for the day and soon it will be here! The day you finally boost your bum with a Brazilian Butt Lift at EnLighten Skin & Body Medspa! Given the location of the procedure and augmentation aspects of it, post-care plays a strong role in your recovery and the final outcome of your procedure so we want to share some tips with you.

Tips For Brazilian Butt Lift Post Care

The Brazilian Butt Lift adds shape, dimension, and bulk to the gluteal area to attain a perkier, more youthful-looking backside and a curvier body profile. To help your body adjust to the changes and recover from the procedure, you’ll be given post-care instructions before you leave our medspa. It is very important to follow these post-care instructions to support procedure success.

  • Ease Into Recovery. Initially, you can expect to be sore and have some bruising and swelling both where fat was harvested and where it was injected. Use pain medication as needed as it can help minimize discomfort and reduce swelling. Most patients are able to get up and walk around just 1-2 days after the procedure and we encourage you to do so. Movement keeps the blood flowing and blood flow is crucial to tissue recovery. You may experience fluid drainage from incision points; this is completely normal and to be expected and will stop after just a few days.
  • Wear Your Compression Garment. You will receive a compression garment to wear. This garment helps the body heal by minimizing swelling, decreasing discomfort, and helping the skin to retract. You will need to wear the garment for as many as 8 weeks.
  • Find a New Way to Sit and Sleep. One of the biggest adjustments for patients is finding a new way to sit, but it’s very important for recovery to not sit or put any pressure directly on your buttocks for those first 8 weeks! You will be advised to sleep on your side or your stomach and to avoid sitting as much as possible. When you do sit, use a donut pillow or even an inflatable pillow to minimize pressure on the procedure site. You may also put the pillow under your thighs so you can “perch” on your seat instead of putting all of your weight on the buttocks. Putting weight on the buttocks reduces blood circulation, which can damage the fat cells that were transferred to the buttocks.
  • Follow Your Custom Post-Care Plan. Every patient at EnLighten Skin & Body Medspa will receive a customized post-care plan. This plan will include at-home care tips as well as recommended in-office treatments like lymphatic massage.

We know you’ll be eager to show off your new booty and with proper care, you should be feeling like your old self (or your new and improved self!) 6-8 weeks after the procedure. In the meantime, don’t hesitate to contact the team at EnLighten Skin & Body Medspa if you have questions about your recovery! We are always here for you!
